SkillRoute evaluates learning products for career relevance, syllabus coverage, practical work, credential signal, time, cost exposure and learner fit. We write for US readers making a decision, not for search engines or course providers.

Who writes and reviews

The SkillRoute Editorial Desk is the organizational byline used for research and drafting. Named reviewers examine high-impact pages before publication. A reviewer byline means the page passed our evidence and disclosure checks; it does not imply first-hand course completion unless the page expressly says so.

How courses are selected

We begin with a defined career task and the competencies associated with it. A course must contribute to that task before inclusion. Editors then compare the current syllabus, prerequisites, purchase model, provider-stated duration, project work, credential and meaningful alternatives. Catalogue size and affiliate availability are not quality scores.

How we use sources

Provider pages are the primary source for syllabus, duration, prerequisites and credential terms. US Bureau of Labor Statistics pages are our preferred national source for occupational pay and projections. Provider-supplied job-posting or survey figures remain labelled with the provider’s named source, population and period; they are not blended with BLS medians.

How job posting samples are counted

When a guide includes a SkillRoute job posting sample, we state the sample size, title and location rules, review date and counting method. A skill is counted only when it appears in the posting’s responsibilities, qualifications or named preferences. We link the sampled postings and describe the results as directional because vacancies change and a small sample cannot represent the entire US market.

Our coverage score

A syllabus coverage score is an editorial assessment of how well the published curriculum addresses the core skill categories for a stated role. It is not a learner rating, employment probability or measure of teaching quality. The score is supported by visible notes on skills, projects, prerequisites and limitations.

Commercial boundaries

Providers and affiliate relationships do not write our reviews or control strengths, limitations, learner-fit judgments or factual corrections. Eligible affiliate links are disclosed separately from editorial assessment. A commercial relationship never converts a provider claim into a SkillRoute fact.

Corrections, review dates and change history

Course prices, catalogues and availability change. We record the source date, schedule factual reviews and show material changes. We update a review date only after substantive checking. Readers can use our corrections process to report an error.

AI and automation

Automation may organize sources, check links, maintain the editorial calendar or assist drafting. It does not create first-hand experience, qualifications or outcomes. Named editors remain responsible for published judgments, source labels and corrections.
